National EMS Week by Honoring Clinical Saves
Abbott EMS hosted its annual Clinical Saves Dinner and Awards presentation on Tuesday, May 19th during National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. This annual event honors Abbott EMTs, Paramedics and Dispatchers from its St. Louis and Illinois operations whose actions resulted in a Clinical Save. A Clinical Save occurs when a patient who has lost vital signs regains them because of pre-hospital emergency medical care. This year Abbott honored crews for 55 Saves which occurred in calendar year 2014. Also present to honor their personal lifesavers were 5 patients or patient families who personally presented the awards to the crews who saved their lives. As part of the awards presentation, Abbott also honored fire, police and medical facility partners who participated in these Clinical Saves.
